Straw Fan

A simple, beautifully made object with a single purpose — to move the air. Hand-woven in Bali from natural straw fibres, this fan is a quiet study in functional craft: light in the hand, durable in use, and shaped over hundreds of years of refinement.

Carry it to the garden on a hot afternoon, keep one beside the bed, or layer several together as a wall-hung sculptural display. As temperatures rise, a hand-fan offers something a screen never can — a slow, deliberate gesture that cools both body and pace.

Each fan is woven by artisans in small Balinese villages, where the craft is taught and passed down through generations. The weave pattern, handle binding and finish vary slightly from piece to piece — a record of the maker's hand.
