I Design Bilum Clutch by Melena

Our Limited-Edition Craft Series brings together the weavers’ most loved patterns and palettes, thoughtfully handcrafted in small editions. Each design is a unique work of art, created in a numbered series by collectives of 10 to 15 weavers. This collaboration has helped us connect to an additional 100 women living near Goroka in Papua New Guinea. Working in this way provides meaningful and sustainable income to support the women and their communities.

This clutch is in Botol design.

This Bilum is handwoven from wool and acrylic yarn using traditional weaving techniques.

This clutch is lined and features a frame closure and internal pocket.

Melele is from Bena, currently residing in Faniufa. She is currently one of our youngest weavers, and as a young woman raised by a single parent, she weaves and sells Bilum to help support her daily living expenses.
