The Mother’s Day Edit: Maya’s Picks

Next up in our Mother’s Day series, we’re sitting down with Maya—mum to Billie and Riley, manager of the Woollahra store, and the photographer behind the lens for this campaign. After kicking things off with Nina’s wishlist, we’re continuing the series with five pieces Maya has her eye on this year.

There’s a natural ease to Maya’s eye—drawn to form, texture, and pieces that quietly transform a space, an instinct shaped in part by her work as an artist. Her Mother’s Day wish list leans sculptural, with an emphasis on materials that speak for themselves: stone, wood, brass, clay. These are objects you live with, move around, and come to appreciate more over time.

“I tend to gravitate toward pieces that feel beautiful from every angle,” she says. “Things that don’t just sit in a space, but shape it.”

Maya's Wish List: 5 Gifts She’s Eyeing

1. Arteriors Eleanor Lounge Chair (In-store only)

This chair is a true statement piece. “I have been admiring the beautiful bones of this chair since it arrived,” Maya says. “It’s perfection.”

With its sculptural frame and timeless presence, the Eleanor Chair is the kind of piece that effortlessly anchors a room. Designed to be both functional and collectible, it’s as much about form as it is about ergonomics.

2. Stoff Nagel Brass Candle Holders

An object that evolves over time, the iconic Stoff Nagel candle holders invite you to build, stack, and reconfigure. “I have started a little collection of these—it’s great adding in another from time to time to change the structure,” Maya says. Equally striking whether candles are lit or left bare, each piece functions as both an object and an artwork, bringing a warm, architectural quality to any surface.

3. All Day Clay Ceramics (In-store only)

Hand-formed and inherently one-of-a-kind, the pieces by All Day Clay celebrate irregularity in the most beautiful way. “I love the organic nature of these ceramics,” Maya shares. Each piece carries the mark of its maker, with soft, imperfect edges and tactile finishes that make them feel instantly at home, best discovered slowly, in person.

Only In-Store

4. Fourth Street Egg Sculpture in Smoked Oak

Simple in shape, but rich in detail, this sculptural object plays with proportion, grain, and the quiet beauty of natural materials.

“From the universally loved shape to the gorgeous grain of the smoked oak,” Maya says, “I’d have fun moving this around the house to find the best spot to showcase its beauty.” It’s the kind of piece that invites interaction—never fixed, always evolving with its surroundings.

5. Laurent XL Travertine Bowl

A study in contrast, the porous texture of travertine is softened by a gently sloping silhouette. “I love the raw beauty of the travertine alongside the lovely curves of this dish,” Maya says. Whether styled as a centrepiece or left intentionally minimal, it brings a quiet weight and grounded elegance to any setting.
